⚠️ Requirement: You need a paid Dropbox Sign API plan to send real contracts from Influencer Hero. The minimum plan for production is Essentials (from 50 signature requests/month). See Dropbox Sign API pricing for plans and upgrade.
Send contracts to influencers directly from Influencer Hero using DropBox Sign templates.
1) Install the Dropbox Sign integration in Influencer Hero
Step 1: Get your Dropbox Sign API Key
1. Log in to your Dropbox Sign account at app.hellosign.com
2. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner
3. Go to Settings → API
4. Copy your API Key (create one if you don't have one yet)
Step 2: Set up the Callback URL (for notifications)
To receive notifications when contracts are viewed or signed, you need to set up a callback URL:
1. In your Dropbox Sign account, go to Settings → API
2. Scroll down to Callback URL section
3. Enter the following URL: https://webhooks.influencer-hero.com/integration/dropbox_sign/account_id/integration_id/signature_request_event
4. Click Save
Step 3: Connect in Influencer Hero
1. In Influencer Hero Settings, go to Integrations
2. Find Dropbox Sign
3. Click Connect
4. Paste your API key and click Save
Once connected, your Dropbox Sign templates will be available inside Influencer Hero when sending contracts.
2) Create your Dropbox Sign Template
Step 1: Create a New Template
1. Log in to your Dropbox Sign account at app.hellosign.com
2. Go to Templates in the left sidebar
3. Click Create Template or New Template button
4. Choose Create Template (not "Create Reusable Document")
Step 2: Upload Your Document
1. Click Upload Document or drag and drop your contract PDF/Word document
2. Wait for the document to upload and process
3. The document will appear in the template editor
Step 3: Add Signers (Required)
1. In the Signers section on the right side, click Add Signer
2. In the Role field, enter a role name (e.g., "Signer", "Influencer", "Contractor").
>> Important: Remember this role name - you'll need it when setting up merge fields
3. Click Add or Save
Step 4: Add Merge Fields (Custom Fields)
For Non-Editable Fields (Pre-filled by Influencer Hero)
These fields are automatically filled by Influencer Hero and cannot be edited by the signer:
1. In the document preview, click where you want to add a merge field
2. From the field options, select Textbox field
3. In the Merge Field Label, enter one of the supported field names (see full list in section 3 below)
>> Important: The field name must match exactly (case-sensitive and no blank spaces before or after) with the names listed in section 3 below.
4. Set the field properties:
- Assigned to: Select Sender (this makes it pre-filled and non-editable)
- Required: Unchecked (field is pre-filled, so not required from signer)
- Read-only: Check this to ensure the field cannot be edited
For Editable Fields (Filled by the Signer)
These fields allow the signer to enter or edit information (e.g., date signed, full name):
1. In the document preview, click where you want to add a field
2. From the field options, select the appropriate field type (e.g., Text, Date, etc.)
3. Set the field properties:
- Assigned to: Select the signer role you created (e.g., "Influencer", "Signer")
- Required: Check if the field must be filled by the signer
- Read-only: Leave unchecked (allows signer to edit)
For Signature Fields
1. In the document preview, click where you want the signature
2. From the field options, select Signature field
3. Set the field properties:
- Assigned to: Select the signer role you created (e.g., "Influencer", "Signer")
- Required: Check this (signature is always required)
Note: Repeat these steps for all fields you want to include in your template.
Step 5: Configure Email Settings
1. Scroll to the Email section
2. Fill in the Email Subject (e.g., "Please sign your contract")
3. Fill in the Email Message (e.g., "Hi, please review and sign the attached contract")
- This is what the influencer will see in the Dropbox Sign email notification
Step 6: Save the Template
1. Click Save
2. Give your template a name (e.g., "Influencer Contract Template")
3. Click Save to finalize
✅ Your template is now ready to use in Influencer Hero!
3) Supported merge fields (Custom Fields)
Use these custom field names in your template to auto-fill influencer + deal data.
⚠️ Important: Field names must match exactly (case-sensitive and no blank spaces before or after the text) for the data to populate correctly.

💡 PRO TIP: input_variable_1 and input_variable_2 are optional and can be filled when sending the contract in Influencer Hero.
4) Send the contract to influencers from Influencer Hero
Send via the Bulk Tool
1. Open your Campaign Board
2. Click Open Bulk Tool
3. Select the influencers you want
4. In Select bulk action, choose Send Contract (option will only show if Dropbox Sign is connected)
5. Select the Dropbox Sign Contract Template
6. (Optional) Fill Input Variable 1 and/or Input Variable 2
Examples:
* Fixed fee: 1000 USD
* Posting date: 5th of September 2024
7. Click Save
Dropbox Sign will email each influencer with an invitation to sign.
5) Tracking status in Influencer Hero
After sending:
The influencer's Deal page shows a notification in the Activity Timeline when the contract is viewed for the first time
The Deal page also shows a notification when the contract is signed
The Deal page creates a To-do task when the contract is fully signed by all parties (completed)
